WHERE IS MALTA?

Malta is a small Island in the Mediterranean close to the southern tip of Italy, Sicily. Malta has a rich history. We have prehistroic temples, older than Stonehenge. The Island was once under British rule, but became a Republic in 1974.

Queen Elizabeth II, then Princess Elizabeth and Duchess of Edinburgh, lived in Malta between November 1949 and 1951 in Villa Guardamangia in Pietà, a town close to Malta's capital , Valletta. 

The official language in Malta is Maltese, but here we speak English as a second language. 

Malta has 300 days of sunshine a year.

The Island is part of the European Union. Malta has inhabitants from many countries within and outside the E. U.
